Hello and welcome to Swansea University
if you think you’re thinking of coming here good choice.
Now you may have thought about what course you’re going to be studying but
have you thought about where you’re going to be living? No? Then it’s a good
job I’ve been paid to show you around come with me it’s actually this way If you study Engineering or Management
Bay campus is perfect for you as you’ll live right next to our lectures. Bay
Campus is made up of a range of flats each with four to eleven bedrooms per
flat. There is a choice of medium en suite or
Premium en suite. This is Medium en suite and this is a Premium ensuite, it has
everything a medium ensuite has only it’s a bit bigger it’s got a double bed,
set of drawers and an easy-chair, it’s self-catered so you get this kitchen
with everything you need to make a Michelin star meal or beans on toast
if you can’t be bothered But on top of Bay campus’ best-selling
features is this; its own seafront promenade and direct beach access.
Just think about how many sand castles you can build here if you want to live here but study on a different campus then don’t worry as there’s frequent bus
services that go between different campuses or should that be
Kampai. I love living at Bay Campus because it’s got really nice room facilities, they’re really modern it’s also right by the beach so you can see the sea and
it’s got a state-of-the-art new campus for Engineering and Business Management
so that’s Bay campus you’ll share a flat with between 4 and 11 of the students
there’s a choice of medium ensuite or premium ensuite rooms. It’s all self-catered, there’s direct access to the beach and it’s perfect for engineering or
management students as it’s right next to those buildings but if you do study
on another campus there’s a regular bus service going to other campuses Hendra volt ng both how do you say? A,
Hendrefoelan student village is your budget option but it’s still incredibly
popular amongst loads of students for a start it has a residence parking so if
you’ve got a car this is a great option. All the rooms are standard so there’s no
ensuites here, all the rooms come with a desk a bed and plenty of storage space.
You’ll share the bathroom with up to four people hopefully not all at the
same time sorry. It’s all self-catered so you’ll get the following things in your
kitchen a fridge a freezer a microwave a kettle and a cooker but if you fancy
some alfresco dining then there’s also a barbecue area
Hendrefoelan is in a residential area with lots of useful shots all within
walking distance I recommend living in the Student
Village it’s cheap there’s free parking it’s very sociable lots of shops within
walking distance and en-site pub so as a recap
Hendrefoelan student village is the budget option but is still very
popular. You’ll share a bathroom with four other students, it’s self catered it
has car parking, it’s in a great area with easy access to lots of local shops If you want to live right in the centre
of uni life and be close to lectures then Singleton Park is the place to be Singleton Park is spread across nine
halls of residence with a mix of self-catered, standard with pre-paid
dining card standard rooms and ensuite rooms in a standard room you will find a
bed a desk shelves for books and things wardrobe sink and a mirror if you’re in
a standard room you’ll share the bathroom with just one other person the
ensuite room comes with everything that you’ll find in a standard room only with
its own bathroom that’s why they’re called ensuites. If you’re self-catered
you’ll have a kitchen like this which has the following a fridge a freezer a
cooker a microwave and a kettle. But if you’re catered you’ll get a prepaid
dining card you’ll get money loaded onto it each week and you can spend it at any
of the universities catering outlets. Another good thing about Singleton Park
is that you’re close to the sports village the beach the park and Uplands
where you’ll find supermarkets, cafes and pubs
I like living on singleton campus because you’re really central to all the campus
facilities, you’re right next your lectures as well so you can literally roll out
bed in the morning which is really handy and you’re right on the beachfront as
well. So in summary Singleton Park is spread across nine residences, is a mix
of self-catered standard with a pre-paid dining card, standard and ensuite
rooms is right in the middle of uni life and close to lectures, is within walking
distance to the sports village the beach the park and Uplands. So now you see
where you can live ask yourself the following questions
How much rent can I really afford to pay? Am I looking at Hendrefoelan Student
Village or Singleton Park, how long is your course? Healthcare and postgraduate
courses could be longer than the tenancy length so make sure to double check. Do
you really need a car? Most sites don’t have parking so think about if you
really need one. Do you really need an ensuite? Or could you save some money and share with one other person. Wherever you live
in Swansea you’ll always have the professional support of Residential
Services. Residential Services is part of Student Services and also includes the
Money Advice Support Office, Well-being services the Disability Office and the
International student advisory service thank you very much, thank you. Whatever
help you need there’s always someone here to help you at Swansea University. So
that’s my guide to where you could live in at Swansea University have fun
looking at the halls and if you want to find out any more information go to the
accommodation website or go to Residential Services you
