it’s definitely one of the hardest
things I’ve ever gone through I went to school first for healthcare
administration management. I wasn’t satisfied with that I wanted
to help people more started this program and it’s been crazy but it’s been
amazing In the last years and my clinical experience I
gained so much confidence and I feel great having a job lined up in a couple
months when I’m done and I take my license test — it’s a really great feeling. If you really work for it and put your mind to it it’s gonna pay off
exponentially so you really get out of it what you put in to it and I’m
sitting here today are really proud of what I put in do it so today I’m actually singing the national anthem and I’m really excited about it. I’m a little
nervous about it. it’s a big day my whole family is coming so it’s gonna be really great
but it’s a little special because not everybody does that and I feel
honored and joyful to be doing it. I saw ACC I don’t even know how but I was like oh a surgical tech like that would be great to try it out and see what they
do. I went to the first day they gave you the tour of the campus and
it was just so awesome, it was an amazing experience that I cried I kid you not just by meeting all the teachers and everything I was just ‘oh
man this is what I’m meant to be doing right now’ and now that I’m finished it just feels so great being able to help the others and no one can I
make an impact in my family but also in other peoples lives. the reason why I chose ACC was one of my friends actually was a past graduate
and she came here to the same program. She told me she had a wonderful
experience so I wanted the same thing too. For me it means that I have an
opportunity more to expand myself both financially and for my family and me to
gain knowledge, because knowledge is power. It was a difficult journey just like
anybody else but like they say if it was easy everyone would do it but with ACC they’re gonna help you step by step. there’s tutoring which I took and
like I said if I can do it, anybody can do it. I completed GED, I did a Spanish course, medical billing and coding, I obtained
perfect attendance and honor roll the whole time I was here. I always wanted to
obtain my GED. I’ve been trying for so many years. I’m 53 and I did it, you know?
And I can’t tell you how happy I am to be here today. This is just so awesome. I
never thought that I would have so many achievements in seven months in my whole
life but it can be done and I’m here to say hey if you want it, come get it. (graduates, please move your tassels from right to left) (Crowd cheers) hi I’m Katie Marth and I’m a ACC grad hey
