Earning my degree has changed my life
completely because now I get to apply to a masters in Public Health and I
actually have an interview for that and I’m hoping to get in and start classes
in the fall most of my classes were online my campus was the UMA-Augusta
campus.
My wife and children are here with me celebrating today and it
supports me because they’re my motivation they are the ones who motivated me to do this and helped me a lot throughout this program It has changed my life tremendously
It has offered me the opportunity to be able to apply for jobs that I never would be able to
I mean, I don’t want to be stuck in something I don’t like or don’t want to do so that
freedom alone is really great My goal is to get a PhD
This degree at UMA has impacted me a lot My experience in cybersecurity mostly
I’ve been participating in Cyber Moves which is a cybersecurity team and I
developed a lot of skill in hacking and being competitive on this team.
I’d always wanted to have a college degree but I didn’t go to college
straight out of high school so when my older child started school in 2003 I said okay, it’s time for me to sign up for my first
semester of college courses Currently, my goal for the future is to
pursue my graduate degree I’m going to get the dual masters – a Master of
Information Science and a Master of Public Affairs Hopefully one day, I can take
those skills and work more with politics and the government to really grow the
community and build upon that and I get to go there because I have my degree
from UMA now.
